Be sure not to delete the "logo=". Edit the "&slogan=Optional slogan (847-555-5555)" with your slogan. Be sure not to delete the "&slogan=". This will update the Flash logo on all pages. You can replace the small image in the top left corner with your own .jpg graphic by editing the "flash-icon.jpg" located in the "picts" folder. If you wish to use a graphic logo, there are instructions later in this document. Edit the "Welcome" text for the "var LogoText" in the header.js with your site name. To test this, make the "var showflash" a "no" and open the "index.html" in your web browser. This is the text that will show in non-Flash browsers. Change the "var showflash" back to "yes" when you are done. INCLUDED MOBILE DETECT - HEADER DETECT: | Click for more details The "header.js" includes a browser detection script for non-Flash browsers and devices. An option for testing and to show either text, or an image in non-Flash browsers is included in the "header.js". Click above for details. INCLUDED MOBILE DETECT - HOMEFLASH: | Click for more details The homepage Flash image text slideshow includes a browser detection script. A static image, the "homeflash1.jpg" in the "text-slideshow" folder will display in non-Flash browsers and mobile devices. HOMEPAGE TEXT & IMAGE CHANGER: | Click for more details The homepage (index.html) Flash changer is showing 5 .jpg images with a title, text area, link text, and link for each slide. These 5 images are in the "text-slideshow" folder and are 850 x 300 pixels each. You can replace "homeflash1.jpg" through "homeflash5.jpg" with your .jpg images to update the homepage. Click link above for more options. In the "text-slideshow" folder edit the "flash-slideshow.txt". There is a title?, text?, linktext? and link? for each slide. Edit the text following the "=" to setup text and links for each slide. Example: Edit the following for slide #1: &title1=Your Title &text1=Your Text &linktext1= Click here text &link1=yourpage.htm In the extras folder there is a "flash-slideshow-BACKUP.txt" if you need a new copy of the "flash-slideshow.txt". Step 2: EDIT COPYRIGHT: | Click for more details Open the "copyright.js" file in Notepad or any text editor and edit the "Your Company" text with your name or company name. This will change the footer info on all pages. Step 3: EDIT CONTACT INFO: | Click for more details Open the "contact.js" file in Notepad or any text editor and change the company name, address, phone and fax numbers and email address (edit the email in 2 places). This will update contact info on the "contact" page. In the "contact.htm" edit the map link. Go to the map site you use, search for your location, copy the link from the address bar, paste this link over the link in the map image. Step 4: EDIT THE CONTACT FORM: Click for current info on setting up the template forms. Click for info on adding more fields to the forms. Click for changing form sizes or colors. If you want to use only email on the contact page you can remove the contact form by deleting between the "REMOVE FORM" notes in the "contact.htm". Or... you can delete the "contact.htm", rename the "agents.htm" to "contact.htm" and remove the "agents" link in the "menu.js". Step 5: REPLACE THE FEATURED HOMES PICTURES: | Click for more details The best way to setup the pictures in the gallery is not to actually edit the HTML pages and change the pictures on each individual page. The fastest way is to simply replace the pictures in the "gallery" folder with your own by overwriting the files that are in there now and using the same generic names. In the "gallery" folder, replace the 4 "homes-page-?.jpg" pictures with your thumbnails. These images are now 120 x 80 pixels. This will update the "featured-homes.htm" page and also the homepage (index.html). Replace the 20 "Fhomes?.jpg" pictures with full size photos. Each featured home includes 5 full sized views. "Fhomes" images are 400 x 267 pixels, however, you can make them any size that you prefer. This will update the 4 "featured-?.htm" pages. Replace the 20 "homes?.jpg" pictures with your thumbnails. These thumbnails are now 50 x 33 pixels. This will update the 4 "featured-?.htm" pages. NOTES: There are a total of 11 images per featured home. Example, for home #1 edit the "homes-page-1.jpg" the "Fhomes1-1.jpg" through "Fhomes1-5.jpg" and the "homes1-1.jpg" through "homes1-5.jpg" images. Step 6: EDIT LEFT SIDEBAR: | Click for more details You will edit the "sidebar-left.htm" like any other HTML page. Editing the "sidebar-left.htm" will update all the pages at one time. If you need more height in the sidebar you can edit the "sidebar-frame-left" height style in the "coolstyle.css". Step 7: EDIT RIGHT SIDEBAR: | Click for more details You will edit the "sidebar-right.htm" like any other HTML page. Editing the "sidebar-right.htm" will update all the pages at one time. If you need more height in the sidebar you can edit the "sidebar-frame-right" height style in the "coolstyle.css". Step 8: SETUP THE MLS IDX HOME SEARCH: Click for MLS search setup info. Allwebco does not provide MLS search code or support. All MLS search forms included in this template are examples only. Step 9: EDIT HOMEPAGE SOCIAL LINKS: | Click for more details The homepage (index.html) includes a link for Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn in the "FOLLOW US AREA" section. You can search for your profile for each of these sites, copy the link from the address bar and paste your links over the links in the index.html. Delete the line for any social link that you are not using. Step 10: EDIT PAGES: | Software choices | Notepad Editing Edit the text on all HTML pages with your information. You can use a text editor like Notepad, or HTML editor like Expression Web, Frontpage, Dreamweaver or any wysiwyg editor. Take care not to delete any of the HTML tags that surround the text. You will find notes inside each page to help you navigate. NOTE: You will not see the footer and header in some software because they are .js include files so you can globally edit your header, footer, footer-menu, and other info. Step 11: EDIT TITLES, DESCRIPTIONS AND KEYWORDS: | Click for more details Open each of the pages and change the titles (at the very top of the page) and also the description and the keywords with your product or service info. You can edit one page and copy and paste to the other pages. Be careful to only change what's inside the "" so you don't disturb the html code. Page titles are important so your site will get a good listing at Google, Yahoo! and other search engines. Click for optimization help. Step 12: UPLOAD: | Click for more details Upload the pages on to your hosting company's server using ftp software or Windows Explorer or your control panel. Be sure to upload the "picts", "gallery", and "text-slideshow" folders and all files in these folders. Options: USING A GRAPHIC LOGO: You can replace the Flash logo with a graphic one. To do this, delete or move the "header.js" into the extras folder, then rename the "graphic_logo_header.js" to "header.js". In the "picts" folder you will find a graphic called "logo.jpg", open this graphic and edit it with your logo. This image is now 90 pixels in height but you can make this any size you would like. HOMEPAGE FLASH CHANGER OPTIONS: | Click for more details Click the above link for font and button color options for the homepage image text slideshow. The background color for the homepage changer can be edited in the "coolstyle.css". RIGHT SIDE LOGO: The logo and image on the right side is located in the picts folder and is named "logo-side.jpg". Edit this image with your parent company logo and/or your own image. There is a layered PSD file of this image in the "extras" folder. RIGHT SIDE RATES BOXES: The rates on the right side of each page are linked "live" rates. Click here for details on this content. To remove this code, open the "sidebar-right.htm" and remove all code between the "DYNAMIC RATES" notes. SITE MAP PAGE: The "site_map.htm" is linked from the index.html. It is best not to remove this link so search engines can find your site map and properly list all your pages when users search at major search engines. FONTS: | Click for more details You can change your font colors and sizes by editing the "coolstyle.css" with a text editor. You can find other font colors by clicking here. You can also change the font sizes in the "coolstyle.css" file. Change the "table" px size to change the copy on all pages. Change the "title" px size to change all the title sizes. CHANGING / ADDING MENU BUTTONS: | Click for more details You can change the names on the buttons like "About" or "Contact" to other page names by editing the "menu.js". Only change the one instance of the name and not the name with the ".htm" after it. Whatever you change in the "menu.js" will change every page on the website. Keep the names short so you have more room in the menu. You can add more pages by copying one button in the "menu.js" and pasting it right below the next. You may want to back up your files before you edit them. Menu links are also included in the "sidebar-left.htm" as well as the "menu-footer.js". More links can be added in these 2 files. TOO MANY PAGES FOR THE MENU: | Click for more details You can add extra links or links with long names to either of your 2 "sidebar?.htm" pages. Sample links are included in the "sidebar-left.htm". You can also add as many links as you need to the site map page. Click link above for more solutions. PICTURES: | Click for more details You can replace all template images with your own. You will find all pictures in the "picts" folder. The homepage Flash text & image changer images are in your "flash" folder. Hover over any image to view the image sizes. ADDING PAGES: | Click for more details | Add a gallery You can add pages to your website by copying and pasting any one of the pages and renaming it to whatever you need. You can then add links for the new pages to the menu by opening the "menu.js". See adding to the menu above. PAGE HEIGHTS: | Click for more details Page height in this template is set by either the right or left sidebar IFrames. In the CSS file these are the classes "sidebar-frame-left" and "sidebar-frame-right". For the featured pages edit the "feat-height" class. Click above for help setting these heights. EXTRAS FOLDER FILES: The files in the extras folder are optional files. You can use any of these files as indicated elsewhere on this help page and related support pages.
